This is just a quick post to explain and excuse my lack of posting in the last week. I went through a rush of go-go-go-hurry-up-and-wait, then a slow period. The last week have been chuck full of agvocacy, finals, home cooking, and all sorts of other excitement. Here’s some of what I’ve been up to lately:
- I helped teach 1,200 local 4th graders about agriculture. If you’re interested in learning more about this, my next blog post SHOULD be about this event, known as “Kids Day on the Farm.” It’s put together by several local organizations, including the Kankakee Ag Expo Committee, the Kankakee County Farm Bureau, Kankakee County Soil and Water Conservation District, and the Kankakee County Extension, just to name a few. (I know there are more organizations than this involved, and I apologize for missing any of them. If anyone out there has a complete list of the folks involved in planning, please let me know!)
- I’ve cooked several home-made meals, including a pork chop dinner and a pot roast!
- I finished the Winter 2011 term with good grades and a decent GPA!
- I am officially on break, and have been since last Wednesday. I move back to Naperville on Sunday and start classes again on Monday.
That’s a brief update on what I’ve been up to. For now, I’ll continue enjoying my break, which will end up with a few days spent in Wisconsin. Until my next post, take care!
