I have about twelve half-written drafts sitting on the back end of my blog, but those are going on the back burner today because of some big news from a friend. Megan Brown is a 6th-generation rancher, cattlewoman, foodie, an all-around fantastic lady. She tells it like it is, she provides a candid view of beef production, and she’s got all the passion and spunk you would expect from a California ranching woman. And yesterday, she announced that she’s in the running for a Shorty Award.
The Shorty Awards are meant to honor folks who generate content in short-form social media. Because of her passion for delicious edibles and her strong authority as a voice in meat production, Megan is in the running for a Shorty Award in the category of Food.
Megan is a friend, yes. We’ve shared some pretty fantastic experiences together, albeit from 2,200 miles away from each other. I’m thrilled she has this opportunity, although she’s a little embarrassed about the publicity.

Also find hereon Twitter, where she is a constant source of both information and entertainment. Good luck, Megan! As your friend and fellow agriculture advocate, congratulations!
