When you work in social media, you find yourself drawn to brands with a dynamic social media presence. I’ve mentioned that Southwest’s social media prowess further solidifies my love for them. Another example of this is Wendy’s. Wendy’s is by far one of my favorite fast food chains, and their massive amount of social media swagger makes me swoon.
They have WONDERFUL burgers (many of which feature bacon) and chicken nuggets, but also GREAT fries and a nice array of healthier options. AND, THEY ARE FANTASTIC AT SOCIAL MEDIA. What more could a shamelessly carnivorous girl who obsesses over social media want?! (Don’t answer that question, it’s rhetorical.)
So when Wendy’s asked if I wanted to jump in on their social media goodness, my answer was, “Heck to the yes.” (Maybe not so G-rated, though.)
In fact, they’re letting me assist in a SWEEPSTAKES!
This sweepstakes is promoting the return of their limited time chicken flatbread sandwiches.
I tried the Asiago Ranch Chicken Flatbread (sans tomato), and it was DYNAMITE.
Since I also tend to blog about wellbeing, I should highlight that, at 530 calories for the whole thing, this sandwich has 60% of your daily protein intake, based on USDA dietary guidelines, and 12% of your fiber. Considering this thing has bacon, ranch, and cheese on it (three things I try to allow nutritional wiggle room for) I’d say that’s a pretty solid win. The other flavor, Smokey Honey Mustard, has less than 400 calories!
Wendy’s is asking folks to take Instagram or Vine videos showing their love of these returning flatbread sandwiches. Share your video with both the #6SecondsFlat and #CNCL6 hashtags, and you’re automatically entered in the “6 Seconds Flat Sweepstakes” for one of several weekly prizes of $6,000. (I should highlight, as a sponsored blogger I am not eligible to win, but I’m pulling for my readers to win!) To view entries, read more about the contest, and read the official rules, click here. Just remember, your entry method is to share your videos on Vine or Instagram with both of these hashtags: #6SecondsFlat AND #CNCL6! (The #CNCL6 hashtag tells Wendy’s that I sent ya.)
Need an example? Here’s my video! (Note at the start of the Instagram that I started eating the flatbread before Nightwolf could help me get video. And yes, I did get sassy with my dog when she got too close to my sandwich.)
How else does Wendy’s win? If you haven’t checked out their Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger Love Songs, you’re missing out. Essentially, people tweeted about the new burgers, which feature a pretzel bun, and Wendy’s used them to make love songs about the sandwich. Here’s links to the videos:
Being an already-committed advocate for Wendy’s, their creativity just sends me over the edge into fan-girlness. I guess you could say I have a “brand crush” on Wendy’s.
Wendy’s was my go-to for fast food cravings in college. I got a handful of European exchange students hooked on Wendy’s when I was their token American friend my sophomore year. Those crazy Europeans…
Anyways, Wendy’s, I love you. I’ll scream it from the top of the mountains, and I feel jubilation that I get to be part of a club of fortunate bloggers who have been invited to write about you. Your food makes my taste buds do a glorious dance of joy, complete with awe-inspiring ballet moves and the taste bud equivalent of mosh pitting. (Is “mosh pitting” a verb?)
And to you, my readers, here’s your mission (again), should you choose to accept it:
- Procure a Wendy’s flatbread sandwich.
- Record a Vine and/or Instagram video of your experience with it.
- Tag it with both hashtags, #6SecondsFlat AND #CNCL6.
- Potentially win $6,000.
